Every two years the Leamington Society presents awards to recognise achievements in improving the physical appearance of Leamington Spa. Nominations for Awards must be in Leamington Spa, visible to the public and have been completed in the last two years.

The definition is wide - awards could be given for:

o Restoration of a period building
o A new building or structure
o Improvement to a building
o A new or restored interior which has public access
o A restored or new shop front
o A landscape, garden, park or planting
o A sculpture or work of art
o Any other improvement to the public.

The special Bill Gibbons Trophy may also be presented for the private (ie owner-occupied) dwelling nomination most impressing the judges.

In 2008 Chiltern Railways will again be making a very generous contribution towards the cost of mounting the Leamington Society Awards. As in recent years, Warwick District Council (WDC) is providing the Town Hall for the presentation of the Award certificates by the Mayor, Cllr Kailash Chander, on July 10 at 7.30. We are also very grateful for the assistance of the WDC Conservation Officer, Mr Alan Mayes.

The Bill Gibbons Trophy will be presented by Mr Ian Baxter, General Manager (North) of Chiltern Railways.
